Akaroa is small resort town settled by the French and the British on the Banks Peninsula of New Zealand's South Island. It is in the Canterbury Region and sits on a long sheltered harbor named Akaroa Harbor that was formed by the cauldron of two volcanoes. Many bays surround the peninsula and are home to Hector's dolphins which can only be found in New Zealand.
American Samoa is a US territory in the south Pacific Ocean. The Samoans are very proud to be a part of the US. Their island is a very poor island with about 90% of the inhabitants receiving a US welfare check. They bury their family members in their front yard. We saw one golf course that was in decent shape except for the clubhouse which was lacking modern facilities.
Auckland, New Zealand, is a major city on the northeastern coast of the North Island. Auckland has more boats per capita than any other city in the world. Waiheke Island, off the coast of the North Island, is home to world-class vineyards and olive groves, beautiful beaches, eclectic restaurants and million-dollar homes.
